Accept Checks Online Through PayByCheck.com

eMartCart is pleased to announce that our shopping cart service now supports payments through PayByCheck.com.

You can now allow your customers to pay by check, online, as conveniently as paying with a credit card!

Why accept checks? Obviously, to increase sales by appealing to customers who prefer to not use credit cards. Why accept checks online? Similar to credit card payments online, the speed and convenience of paying by check online (rather than writing a check, finding an envelope and stamp, and then waiting days for delivery) can easily make the difference between a sale and a no-sale. But in addition, you may also save money on each sale to customers who select this option, compared to credit card transactions, because PayByCheck.com charges a fixed rate for each transaction rather than a percentage of the total sales amount.

Why accept checks online through PayByCheck.com? In addition to the time and trouble you will save - no more sending customers your mailing address, waiting for checks to arrive, and making special trips to the bank to make deposits - you will also have the benefit of added security.

PayByCheck.com allows for the payment of goods and services by check over the Internet with real-time validation and verification including a proprietary address verification system. PayByCheck.com's systems meet all Federal Regulations and the new NACHA 2001 banking and security rules.

PayByCheck.com offers Electronic Check Processing (ECP) or Paper Drafts depending on your needs. ECP transactions are settled through the ACH network according to NACHA banking regulations. Paper Drafts are printed each day and sent to you via first class mail.

Adding PayByCheck to your cart

When your open your PayByCheck account, you will be assigned a numeric Account ID.  To add a PayByCheck checkout button to your eMartCart, there is now an entry field on the Item Form labeled "PayByCheck ID". Just enter your assigned Account ID number in this field.

If you already have catalog pages using eMartCart and you saved the original input form that you used to create the catalog pages or Order button HTML (as recommended in the directions), then you can reload your saved form in a browser, click the "Update Form" button, and you will get back a form with the new entry field for "PayByCheck ID". Enter your Account ID in this field, download and save the new version of the form, then recreate your catalog page or Order button HTML by clicking the appropriate form button.

Or, you may find it easier to modify your existing pages rather than create new catalog pages or buttons. To do that, you can directly edit your catalog pages with Notepad or any HTML editor. You will see that each Order button is an HTML <form> with several input fields (i.e., HTML <input> tags). To add a PayByCheck checkout button to your cart, simply add another input field to each button, specifying your PayByCheck Account ID:
