    Order Processing

    • If you already have a standard merchant account, most banks let you process authorizations manually through a "terminal" program running on your PC. If you want to process authorizations for cart orders manually (offline) instead of through one of the online payment services or gateways, you can use our SSL secure server to collect the customer's credit card information, billing address, and shipping address. You and the customer get copies of the order, and then you can log in to your account to get the credit card information to process the authorization.
    • You can have orders sent directly to you via e-mail, rather than checking out through any of the card services. This allows you to accept payment by check or money order, or to otherwise contact the customer to complete the transaction. For example, you can define a special message to be included in the customer's copy of the order, to specify an address to mail a check or money order, or a phone number to call for an offline credit card authorization. These e-mailed orders can be sent to a separate mailbox instead of to your primary mailbox, so you can also set up an "auto-responder" message on that mailbox to automatically reply to your customers with the necessary payment instructions. (Even if you are using one of the card services for final payment, you can use this feature to manually process the order, then send the customer a request for payment through one of the card services. For example, if you are using a shipping method that does not allow you to specify shipping costs without knowing the shipping address, you can receive the orders, manually calculate shipping, and then send a request for payment.)
    • Payment notification messages from PayPal, 2CheckOut, and Authorize.Net so you will only receive order messages from transactions that are actually completed. These order messages will include the customer's name, e-mail address, and shipping address. Your customers also receive copies of their orders. The customer's e-mail address will be included as the "Reply To" address for the messages, so you can easily acknowledge the order, including using an "auto-responder". (With the free PayPal service, you will receive orders every time a customer "checks out", even if the payment is not completed in PayPal; you have to match up payment notices from PayPal with the order details from eMartCart to know where to ship each order or contact a customer; and the customer does not receive a copy of the order detail.)
    • You can have a special "Thank You" page URL which your customers will be directed to after successfully completing a payment.
    • Add a customized message to the top and bottom of your order messages which get sent to your customers.
    Item Pricing Options

    • Products may be offered that have different pricing options, without creating buttons for each option. The product options are shown, with prices, in a pull-down menu over a single "order" button.
    • The enhanced "Selections" pull-down lists for each item can include options that have additional costs that will be added to the product's base price if those options are selected.
    • Specify fixed quantities for an item which the customer can select from a pull-down list over the "order" button before ordering.
    • Specify a minimum order amount, which is useful if you sell low-priced items but would like to require a lower limit on the dollar amount of the total order.

    • PayPal has announced that they will soon support payments in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and Euros (EUR), and in the future they plan to accept Canadian (CAD) and Australian (AUD) Dollars and Japanese Yen (JPY). With the eMartCart service, you can list prices in your Order buttons in those currencies now! Those currencies will be shown on your catalog page and in the cart when an item is added, and then the total price of the order will be converted to US Dollars before transferring to PayPal, 2CheckOut, Authorize.Net, or PayByCheck for payment. As PayPal introduces direct payments in each of those currencies, eMartCart will remove the conversion function and pass the cart amounts in directly, so you won't have to change your Order buttons.
    Options for Taxes Discount Options

    • Through a second Tax field, so you can have one rate for state taxes and another for city or county taxes.
    • You may optionally specify that sales tax is to be collected on shipping charges, which is required in some (but not most) states.

    • You can offer your customers discounts; either a flat discount rate on orders over a specified total order price, or volume discounts on each individual item.
    • Using passwords, promotion numbers, or coupon numbers, you can offer selected customers special discounts. Each password or coupon number can have its own discount rate.

    • Charge for shipping or handling based on the total cost of the order. You can use this feature instead of the "per item" charges or in addition to those charges. You can also specify that shipping is free for orders over a given amount.
    • An enhanced shipping cost calculation allows you to charge by multiples of a specified quantity, which allows you to more accurately charge for shipping according to the way you package multiples of the same ( or similar) items.
    • You can now use UPS shipping rates based on weight (in pounds), type of delivery, drop-off/pickup option, and the zip code (based on the origin of shipping).
    • We also offer USPS shipping rates based on product weight in pounds and/or ounces allowing you to select from many shipping methods.

    • You can provide a link on your site to allow visitors to self-register as commissioned sales affiliates. They will get customized HTML which they can install on their sites to link to your site, using a choice of banner graphics or text that you provide. (Optionally, you can manually register your selected affiliates and provide them with the HTML link code.)
    • Associate the assigned affiliate IDs to each customer who clicks on a banner ad on an affiliate site, and show that ID on the completed order messages.
    • Set a commission rate for all affiliates or set special commission rates for selected affiliates. Commission rates can be either a flat amount per order or a percentage of the total order amount.
    • Receive monthly summary statements for all your affiliates showing total number of referrals (click-throughs from their sites), total sales to referred customers, and total commission earned. You can also view these monthly summaries and the current month-to-date online.
    • Receive a special file with your monthly summary statement that can be directly uploaded into PayPal's "mass pay" function to automatically pay the commissions (see the PayPal site for details), or which can be loaded into your own spreadsheet.
    • Your affiliates can also log in and see their own monthly summaries and current month-to-date reports.
    • Also integrates with various commercial affiliate sales tracking services (or your own tracking scripts) after a payment notice is received by eMartCart.
    Sell Gift CertificatesManage Quantity on Hand

    • Add a special button to "Buy a Gift Certificate" for your online store. The purchaser can enter any amount and immediately check out using any of your credit card payment options.
    • The purchaser can optionally elect to have a Gift Certificate e-mailed directly to the recipient, with a personalized message, or to print out a Gift Certificate and deliver it personally.
    • The recipient can enter the certificate code directly on the shopping cart page before checking out, and the amount will be deducted from the order total. (The amount deducted is shown as a separate line item on the cart page and on the order detail messages.)
    • The certificate does not need to be redeemed in a single order; the amount of the certificate will be decremented with each separate order until it is all used.
    • The recipient can place an order for an amount larger than the certificate and pay the excess using any of your payment options.
